As stated with the placeholder comic, this website is pretty much ready to begin receiving comics updates. Thank you to everyone who has already subscribed via RSS. I may post regular, non-comic blogs from time to time from now until July 2nd, just so there’s actually SOMETHING going on here.
So, keep an eye on your RSS reader of choice.
Just a quick update that I have officially finished the first “blogComic” and it is scheduled to post on launch day! Get excited.

Things are trucking right along. I just finished writing the first BarnRats arc. I’m doing the writing/drawing for the all the series in six month increments so I can have a good lead time. If all goes well, not only will the comics starting going live July 2nd, but every blogComic for the rest of 2007 will be sitting in the queue on that day as well. That will leave me free to work on the first half of 2008.
As far as drawing goes, I am still in awe of how much the Wacom tablet opens up the possibilities for comics. Â I can try out experiments in a fraction of the time it used to take me. Which is better for everyone since before I would often churn out a mediocre piece and have to deal cause I didn’t have time to redo it. Now I can crank stuff out, and the only thing holding me back is my own drawing abilitly.

I recently upgraded to the latest version of WordPress and now some of the postings in the “news n’ stuff” archives have odd characters randomly added. I’m working on fixing the problem, but for now, if anyone reads my previous posts, know that I’m not that bad of a typist.
I’ve added a new login form to the sidebar. You can sign up and login so whenever you feel like posting a comment, your info should be auto entered. This also helps me to know who’s online instead of just seeing “x# of guests online”.
Another cool thing is that on your profile dashboard, you can see the listing of upcoming comics and posts (and no, you cannot read ahead unless there happens to be a site glitch one day, you can just see that they’re on their way.)
After a lot of experimentation and research into the maximum width I could format my comics to be readable in a 1024 x 768 browser window, without excessive scrolling, I’ve discovered that I still need to format for the 800 x 600 crowd. This is not due to the computer users who haven’t upgraded their monitors in 10 years.
This is an effort to make my comics more portable: RSS readers, MySpace and even visiting my site via the Wii Internet Browser all require making my comics as user friendly as possible, and thus, smaller. This means I must shrink all my comics to 700 dpi wide from the 925 dpi I was using (This makes it the most readable in an RSS reader without having to scroll sideways.)
The reformatted comics are being uploaded as I type this, but it may take a little trial and error to reformat the page dimensions of the site itself (after, ironically, going to a lot of trouble to make things bigger than the default… which was suited to 800 x 600.) But if you are already reading my comic via RSS or e-mail subscription (which I highly encourage), then get ready for an easier to read comic.
Meanwhile, please bear with me as I update everything. I’m just glad I realized this now before I had 100+ comics in the queue.
